Background

Flexible Skills Bank has been set up with the aim of overcoming the problems that thousands of small business owners face when they are finding it difficult to fill all the different roles required of them when managing a company. Often some expert advice or hands on practical help would relieve the difficulties, but they don't know where to find it at affordable prices.

Founder Karen Kennard, is a professionally qualified marketeer, with over 15 years marketing experience in both blue chip organisations and her own small business. She is also a mother of two young children and understands the frustrations of 'wanting it all' that so many parents face - time to be with their children and yet still have a challenging, fulfilling career.

Having run my own business and worked as a marketing consultant to a growing business, I realised that small companies could benefit from the skills and experience that many mothers are not using, simply because they can not find the flexibility they require. It seems to me that the idea of Flexible Skills Bank can fulfil the needs of small companies and professional workers who are aiming for a better work life balance?

  • Consider this
  • For small businesses, employing part time workers can be an efficient way to keep costs down in areas where you don't need full time cover.

  • Flexible working in the news
  • The number of people enjoying flexible working has rocketed in the past few years as employers offer more flexibility, with 46% of employers now offering teleworking or home working to staff

  • Don't forget
  • ..... it's not just Mums who want part time work....there are Dads, freelancers and retired executives too, who have plenty of experience to offer.
